Triangle UAS presents at WRAL TechWire Executive Exchange on smarter cities

Founder Taylor Kerby joined a panel in Wilson, NC on how drones, IoT, and gigabit networks can build connected communities.

Triangle UAS President and Founder Taylor Kerby joined a panel at the WRAL TechWire Executive Exchange, “The Evolution of a Smarter City,” at the Edna Boykin Cultural Center in Wilson, NC.

The panel explored how emerging technologies can help North Carolina municipalities build connected communities. Kerby emphasized that municipal leaders need true public-private collaboration so more citizens benefit from innovation — especially as IoT devices and 5G pair with gigabit fiber networks.

Triangle UAS highlighted practical drone applications for cities, including:

  • 2D and 3D aerial mapping for disaster response and search and rescue
  • Infrastructure inspection and municipal land-use planning
  • Precision agriculture with hyperspectral imaging

Triangle UAS also sponsored “Capture the Flag: An Ethical Cybersecurity Hack for Beginners,” a hackathon in Wilson that introduced high school and college students to ethical hacking and showcased the city’s gigabit network.
